The following MIT Sloan interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was waitlisted.

I interviewed on-campus towards the later end of the interview period. My interviewer was familiar with my application – mentioning specific aspects of it – and also had it up digitally. The overall interview was very professional and friendly.

1. Tell me about your decision to switch companies. What was the biggest challenge?
2. What would you say is your most significant accomplishment?
3. How did you act when someone differed from your opinion?
4. Tell me about a time you mentored someone.
5. Tell me about a time you influenced someone. What were the challenges?
6. Why MIT Sloan?
7. What are your short-term and long-term goals?
8. Is there anything else you’d like the admissions committee to know as we review your application?
9. Do you have any questions for me?

Overall, the I felt that the interview was the best of my R1 interviews, and I answered everything as best as I could and with positive signals from the interviewer. However, I was ultimately waitlisted. Interacting with other candidates that day, it seemed like most of the interview experiences were very positive – so I don’t think you can put too much weight on how you felt immediately after!
