The following INSEAD interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 3 applicant. Good luck to them!

The interviewer introduced himself quickly. Then he explained that this was going to be more of a conversation. He already had the print out of my resume and the 6 page profile. He then asked me to walk him through my résumé.

While I was doing that he asked me a few questions and this walk-through must have taken 8-9 mins. He then asked me my reasons for pursuing MBA at this point of time and also my reason for interest in INSEAD. I clubbed the two answers together. I explained each of my reason and then explained why INSEAD was the best place for me to go to in order to fulfill that particular need/reason. He then asked me about my experience with cultural differences. Since, I had spent some time in the US and UK, which he too had done, we talked about the differences, contrasts and values of the two countries.

We then got into a conversation mode and he shared his experience at INSEAD with diversity and cultural differences. He then asked me if I had any experience with a team member who wasn’t pulling his weight. I narrated one such experience.

He then gave me a situation that if one of my team members at INSEAD is not pulling his weight then what 3 things I will say/do to handle it. He specifically asked me to answer in 3 short sentences only. I asked for 2 minutes to think through and then gave him 3 sentences. He then asked me if I had any questions for him. I asked him to what extent does he think INSEAD will fulfill my needs/expectations from MBA? I then asked him what support INSEAD will provide for my long-term entrepreneurial ambitions. He patiently explained his take at the two questions. He then explained me that he is going to send a feedback within 48 hrs to INSEAD admissions committee. With that the interview ended.

I thanked him profusely, discussed a bit about his business and requested to keep in touch. The interview lasted for about 35 minutes. And it was very conversational and warm.
