Last-Minute Round Two Reminders from Chicago Booth’s Admissions Director
If you’re applying to the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in the second round this year, then you know that today is the application deadline. In a post to the Chicago Booth Insider admissions blog yesterday, Admissions Director Kurt Ahlm offered the following last-minute tips for round-two applicants.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 5th. “Try not to wait until the absolute last minute to submit your application online,” Ahlm advised, since you could experience delays or timeouts given the volume of applications the school receives.
Recommenders can submit their letters up to one full week after the January 5th deadline. “With the holidays so close to our deadline, we wanted to remove some of the pressure you may feel in having your recommenders submit on time,” Ahlm wrote. As long as the applicant clicks submit by today’s deadlines, Chicago Booth will accept applications for which the letters of recommendation come in a few days late. Recommenders can get their letters in as late at January 12th for an application to still be considered, Ahlm says. “However, there is one caveat,” he continued. “We cannot begin reviewing your application until we receive both letters.”
Official transcripts are not required until after a candidate has been admitted. “As long as you scan your transcript(s) into your application, that’s all we need right now,” says Ahlm.
Have test scores sent directly to Chicago Booth. “If you have taken your GMAT/TOEFL/IELTS exams prior to the deadline, all you need to do is self-report your scores in the application,” Ahlm writes. As long as you have identified Booth as one of your schools, Ahlm and his team will receive the official score reports directly from the test providers.
Round-two applicants with remaining last-minute questions about the application or admissions process should contact the admissions office directly, Ahlm advised. He also added that Chicago Booth’s campus visit program will resume on Monday, January 10th.
Best of luck to everyone applying in Round 2!
