Fridays From the Frontline
Hello and welcome to Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s regular round up of the experiences of MBA applicants and current students. This week found many an applicant receiving interview invites while current students were dealing with exams and recruiting.
The Log finally took the TOEFL and eagerly awaited his scores, which should arrive in about two weeks. Random Wok utilized his OCD tendencies to create a interview preparation checklist. Nick received an email expressing interest in his candidacy based on his nationality, and drafted a letter back explaining the stumbling blocks he would face in pursuing the opportunity. JM was riding high with another interview invite, this time from Fuqua, and continued prepping to retake the GMAT and visit Haas. MBA Dreamz compared the GMAT to the GRE. Ellipser received an interview invite from Johnson and was quite excited.
IMD ’11 Howie experienced an emotionally draining day of activity with his team, but delved even deeper into his ability to interact and communicate with a group. Kellogg ’12 Jeremy completed a tough mid-term exam and discussed the feeling students have about grades while also in the midst of recruiting season. LBS ’12 Bosa took a one-day course on how to persuade others and realized the importance of sales. Darden ’11 Lily returned after a lengthy absence that was caused by recruiting season and recapped the Net Impact conference she recently attended. INSEAD ’11 V. expressed appreciation for his fiancee and how their lives will ultimately converge. Babson ’12 Rocky shared a few photographs of Boston in the snow. MIT ’12 Paul started an internship that would still allow him time to socialize and study.
Kellogg ’11 DG attended the VC/PE conference and was quite taken by one speaker’s comparison of entrepreneurs to artists. Though it wasn’t one of his favorite activities, Darden ’11 Matt began to run in an effort to prepare for a marathon. Boston ’11 Felish noted that already having a job offer in hand was saving her from endless elevator pitches. Kellogg ’11 Orlando looked to the future of Facebook, and thought it might become one giant on-line mall. Darden ’11 Miss MBA posted a few photographs from the recent ‘Darden Dancing With the Stars,’ which paired professors with students to raise funds for a local shelter.
And that wraps up this round of Fridays From the Frontline. Until next week, we hope you have a great weekend!
