Fridays From the Frontline
Hello there, and welcome to Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s perennial pursuit for the latest in the lives of applicants and students in the b-school blogosphere. This week applicants continued to focus on essays and recommendations while returning students summarized their internship experiences.
After taking a look at sample recommendation questions, Motown reconsidered who her best recommenders might be and decided to ask her current manager … though exactly how she would go about that was up for debate. KT was committed to learning from his previous year’s missteps and was spending time being introspective, and not rewriting essays 20 times. Sanket planned on attending a number of information sessions in Mumbai. Rolipolli posted a follow up to his last post focused on whether now was a good time to apply for b-school. Pyarapopat storyboarded his essays. Kruthika wished all Indians a happy independence day. The Phoenix distilled his GMAT strategy into four steps. The Applicationist introduced himself.
Kellogg ’13 Night Owl struggled to find a place near campus and visited with friends in California. ESADE ’13 MBA Roadie received his student visa and was preparing to land in Spain. Johnson ’13 Ellipser reflected on his orientation experience and how important essays that represent you are to the admissions process. HBS ’13 Parker outlined her thoughts on how to approach Harvard’s essays.
MIT ’12 Paul took away a number of lessons from his summer internship for Waste Management. Kellogg ’12 Jeremy explained the importance of final internship presentations. Darden ’12 Patrick headed back to Charlottesville after an internship for Amazon in Seattle … and was very much looking forward to wearing shorts. IESE ’12 Hari debunked a few misconceptions about the life of an MBA student.
And that’s all they wrote for this week’s edition of Fridays From the Frontline. We hope all readers and bloggers are enjoying the last few weeks of August before school starts in earnest! Until next week, have a great weekend!
