Fridays From the Frontline

Welcome to Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly perusal through the lives of b-school bloggers. This week found quite a number of applicants updating their blogs with GMAT or application progress, while new and returning students commented on how they balanced their schoolwork and social lives.

Ccatcher shared her response to an AWA question. Ms. HR was hit with the realization that she really is applying to business school.  KT’s recommender made a slight error for Chicago Booth, but hoped it could be fixed. MBA Dilemma worked to perfect her approach to the quant section of the GMAT and encouraged readers to tell her their progress. MBAfome attended a Consortium MAPS event and recommended it to other applicants. My MBA Dreamz reviewed Clear Admit’s Darden School Guide and thought it would be useful from the school selection to essay phase of the application process. Sanket also found the Clear Admit Stanford guide to be helpful, saying that it could save him time scouring the school website for information. Rolipolli highlighted alternative b-schools as determined by the Aspen Institute. Pyarpopat submitted their Ross application and felt it was time to share some wisdom about the application process. The Applicationist procrastinated, but had a general sense of what needed to be done in the coming weeks. Kruthika geared up to retake the GMAT and had a plan.  Roller Coaster was “blown away” by Clear Admit’s Kellogg School Guide.

Oxford ’13 Bayo went punting and found the Nigerian food connection he craved. Johnson ’13 Ellipser planned on attending a Reaching Out MBA event in Dallas next week. With all the opportunities and events in her life, HBS ’13 Parker found she wanted more hours in the day. MIT ’13 ECLS enjoyed watching brilliance in action during his classes. Kellogg ’13 Night Owl led her readers through some of the course selection choices she made thus far, not to mention the clubs she also pursued.

Kellogg ’12 Jeremy considered a different approach to deadlines: not waiting until the last minute to complete tasks. LBS ’12 mbahut pondered the best way to deliver a rejection. George Washington ’12 Part-Timer read an interesting article about doing business in Russia. Babson ’12 Rocky exhorted the greatness of the upcoming Asia Entrepreneurship forum. Fuqua ’12 Devil in a Blue Dress finally found time to cover what had happened in her internship and the first few weeks of her second year.

And that’s a wrap for this week’s edition of Fridays From the Frontline. As Round One deadlines dwindle, we hope that all applicants put their best feet forward and that they take a moment to take a breath before continuing with Round Two! Until next week, have a great weekend.
