In a post to her Admissions Blog yesterday, MIT Sloan School of Management Director of MBA and Master of Finance Admissions Dawna Levenson provided lots of valuable information for MIT Sloan applicants anxiously awaiting Round 2 interview invitations.

As at many leading business schools, an interview is a required step toward admission at MIT Sloan. “The goal of the interview is to personally get to know you better and to hear more about your professional stories and background,” Levenson writes.

MIT Sloan R2 interview invites will go out in four batches, she continued. The first and second batches will go out next week, on Tuesday, February 21st, and Friday, February 24th. Two more batches will go out the following week, one on Wednesday, March 1st, and a fourth and final batch on Friday, March 3rd.

“By March 3rd, all Round 2 applicants will receive either an interview invitation or updated decision status by the end of the business day,” Levenson wrote.

She added that her team expects to interview approximately 20 percent of the R2 applicant pool. Interviews will take place from Monday, February 27th, through Monday, March 27th. “Please keep in mind that interview invitations are sent based on our interviewers’ travel schedules, and not in any preferential order,” Levenson stressed.

MIT Sloan will conduct R2 interviews in the following 13 cities: Cambridge, Bangkok, Dallas, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Paris, San Francisco, Santiago, São Paulo, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo. “The location of the interview will not be a decision factor, but for those who can make it to campus, we host special programming for interviewees, including lunch with current students and a class visit,” Levenson shared, adding that all applicants invited to interview can opt to come to Cambridge for their interview.

Applicants who receive an invitation to interview will also receive an MIT Sloan Interview Guide from the school, which includes details on how best to prepare for its signature Behavioral Event Interview (BEI).

Of course, Clear Admit also offers a range of resources that can help you prepare, including the Clear Admit MIT Sloan Interview Guide and our crowd-sourced Interview Archive, where prior interviewees share their experiences in detail.

We’ll be watching MBALiveWire in the coming weeks and hoping to see a sea of yellow as lots of you score interview invitations. Best of luck!

If you have any questions about the interview process, MIT Sloan encourages you to contact the Admissions Committee directly by email.
