I am looking to retake my GMAT this august and I'm hoping for a 730 (classic) or 665/675 (Focus). Post-MBA I want to go into entrepreneurship - ideally EtA (entrepreneurship through acquisition) or PE ops (as a backup). Pre-MBA, I spent half my work exp in engr & manufacturing roles at an industrials company and the latter half at MBB. I'm an URM (but male) who immigrated to the USA. I'm wondering if my Post MBA goals might be a deterrent to adcoms? Open to any critique! Love the pod!

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1830 Do you have any entrepreneurial experience? What is the source of the desire to move into entrepreneurship? In of itself, it’s not a deterrent, but it does need to make sense, to the adcom. Like all goals, realism, ambition and impact all matter.

Showing impact and growth at work will be very important, supported by strong recommendations. Are you also involved in activities outside of work? Any additional hobbies and interests?

Slightly improved GMAT May help.

anon20569 Likes Earned: 2 I led some office events for a couple of years in my current role. At my last company I also led intern cohort events every year. I don't have much extracurriculars but just started mentoring kids in the community through a local program. I have no formal entrepreneurial experience but I want the full ownership of decisions, outcome, impact etc of running a company. (0)
