Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Why is this surprising? No matter how many times people repeat "GMAT isn't everything", people still assume GMAT>750 is a shoe-in to the top schools. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Yeah 780 doesn't matter if your recommendations are weak, or you've had no progression in your career, or you interview poorly, etc. I'm not saying any of those necessarily apply to the OP, but just illustrating how little a high GMAT means if another part of your app isn't quite good enough. Remember: there's way more to business success than just raw intelligence. Schools know this and they make admissions decisions accordingly. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Lol that seems a little harsh on OP. He could've had all those things (in addition to a great GMAT) and just lost out to a more competitive applicant. At <1/3 chances at the top 25, I'd say you should be a little lucky as well. Sometimes, as the hbs guru might say, one gets too much ding karma. (0)
