Guys, was it a fluke? Applied to 10 schools all in round 2 and only got accepted at 1 school, although a top 5 school. Is this normal? Just don't get it, got interview invite at Berkeley, Cornell, and Kellogg. Waitlisted at Berkeley, Cornell, and Kellogg. My consultant said I was a shoe in for Stanford or Wharton, and had 80% chance at Columbia!

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 NOTHING is guaranteed in the admissions process (an acceptance to H/S/W does not guarantee an acceptance to a lower ranked school (yes even if it is lower ranked)... You got into MIT and that should be enough to celebrate! Unless you are willing to go over the application process again just to go a different program (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Sounds like you had a crappy consultant. Why would they tell you were a shoe-in for Stanford, a school with a 6% acceptance rate? Virtually no one is a shoe-in for Stanford (0)
