Anyone has any thoughts around whether the GRE is seen as lesser than the GMAT? Did you feel like it impacted your changes or did you have to additionally justify it to adcoms?

anon31314 Likes Earned: 111 There is no differentiation from an admission evaluation perspective. I'm a finance guy, took the GRE, and got into GSB. Go by the scores reported in class profiles to get a sense of what you would need for either test and then go for it!! @30011 - how can you make a determination on scholarships? what sample size are you drawing from? I would think you can only draw that conclusion if you worked in admissions. (3)

anon35232 Likes Earned: 24 Got it, thanks, that's great to hear! Some friends had told me that it's looked 'down upon' by adcoms especially for people from more over-represented backgrounds (like Consulting/Banking). (0)

anon31314 Likes Earned: 111 I would love to hear the source of your friend's information. I had this convo with MANY schools through the admissions process and the answer was the same: "we view them the same. take the test you think you'll score best in." (3)

anon35232 Likes Earned: 24 Thanks 31314. I don't think he talked to any actual AdCom. Was based more on his anecdotal experiences that most folks in his class have taken the GMAT. (0)
