You can do better Likes Earned: 0 How much work experience do you have? With those stats you should have gotten in. Your plan B should be to work on writing a better resume and application and go to a way better school then Tepper next year. No offense to CMU, it is a great school but those are top ten numbers, hire an admission consultant if you have to. Don't be lazy and settle. It will pay for itself in the long run, look at employment reports from Fuqua/Stern/Ross compare to Tepper..... (0)

You can do better Likes Earned: 0 I got into Fuqua, Stern, and Ross. That is why I listed them lol. I am a 3.3, 710 GMAT. Nothing special about me, overrepresented group and everything. I got some great help on my apps and am very thankful for it. I am just trying to help you out. Don't take offense! (0)

@You can do better Likes Earned: 0 Fair points. I still think CMU is of similar brand strength and overall strength of education and alumni recognition. But I take your point that more time and resources should be used to always get the best results possible. Personally, I delayed all my applications, and applied only in 2nd and later rounds, so your points are absolutely valid that with more preparation etc I could have done better. Btw I'm not the OP. I also have 720 score and very good GPA from an elite undergrad school, but couldn't get into a top 10 school. But I'm still going with what I have which is a top 20 school. (0)

Although it is unclear what OP applied to in 2016~2017 round, it is important to note him that his average does fall into the top 10 bracket. Of course, meeting the average stat does not guarantee admission, but a high level of correlation should be expected. CMU is a great school, but OP can be more ambitious. (0)

Also yes, it is not law school but if you do your research and focus on good essays you should be able to pin into a certain tier of school. Granted if you are unable to do that research or arre too lazy to do the essays well, then, yes, go to a mid-range school. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 lol Tepper probably thought you woudn't enroll because your numbers are too good for them. Tepper is a regional school, stop kidding yourselves. Yes, it's cute, they might place a couple of alums here and there but it is no Ross or Fuqua. It will always be a top 20-30 school at best. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Tepper is not a regional school. They send hardly any grads to mid-atlantic (Pennsylvania and the surrounding states). Most end up on west coast or in northeast. In fact, while Duke is more highly ranked, it sends a disproportionate number of grads to the south. So it fits the definition of 'regional school' much better... (0)

This is Hilarious Likes Earned: 0 CMU is a great school and the folks going there should be excited. Also, understand Duke is 100x better and that is okay, CMU is still good but don't try to size up. (0)
