Anyone who applied to Cornell, do we assume it's a reject at this point since we did not receive an interview invite and are 2 days away from May 12 initial notification date?

anon10646 Likes Earned: 763 "Initial Notification Date: Following a preliminary review of your application and materials, you will receive one of three initial notifications by the posted date for the round in which you submitted your application: invitation to interview, waitlist without interview, or denial of admission." Someone in the chatroom said they were notified on the last day of the notification period R1 and someone in another site's chat said the adcomm (allegedly) told them interviews will still be going out after the initial notification date. I would think a good chance is one of 3 options listed is posted on the 12th, with interviews occurring shortly after for those selected. Based on how quiet the data points have been and the R2s deposit deadline 4/30, Adcomm reviewed existing waitlist once they had an idea of who deposited, and then finalized decisions on remaining R3s for posting initial notification on the 12th. Sequence would allow adcomm to see how many spots remain, preserve enough applicants in the pipe to fill spots depending on outcome, and minimize going through too many interviews relative to remaining spots. Interviews shortly after 12th would give the usual ~2 week window for decision by the 6/1 final notification deadline. (1)
