Note:

Just got the call this morning offering me a spot. Has been a long journey, having been on the waitlist since December. Sent in multiple updates, visited campus, and had calls with ad-com folks. Best of luck to everyone else - was committed to a T15 so there should be some additional waitlist movement there soon.

anon92307 Likes Earned: 0 I'm seeing a trend though with the last two 750's who got in---it's called trying to edge up the GMAT average a few notches for rankings....The 730s from Brazil were probably two of their stronger non-URM Intl candidates before that period would have to end who wouldn't really hurt their GMAT Median. (0)

anon23739 Likes Earned: 1 Re anon92307 - no feeler the week before, however the call itself contained a feeler prior to offering me a spot. I had also been in regular contact with the adcom (most recently ~3 weeks ago) and had reiterated my commitment and desire to attend with each contact. With regard to GMAT median, that theory is definitely possible but based on my experience, schools care less about GMAT than people on forums seem to think. (0)

anon23739 Likes Earned: 1 @anon92307 - I had contact with various people in admissions starting a week or so after I was waitlisted, up to the day I was admitted. This included sending emails, updates via the portal, and phone conversations. I had some form of contact roughly once every 6 weeks, from December to now. In addition to these communications (which I had initiated), I was unexpectedly called by a member of admissions and had a conversation similar to the one you wrote, where they gave me their decision. (0)
