For me this round 2 was really weird. 1st everybody says that Kellogg calls everyone to interview. 2nd i got a waiver (like lots of you). 3rd kellogg invites people to dinner (i think they didn't do that before) 4th they are as quiet as batman 5th i did interview to almost every school that i applied (even hbs) and i don't know what happenned with kellogg...same idea of essay...same gmat...and God knows that kellogg was my first choice... Anyone that got a waiver did an interview after or received some follow up?

anon29255 Likes Earned: 0 I also received an interview waiver, and was invited to lunch (with Kellogg alumni, current students, and admissions representatives) not long after the waiver. Have yet to hear back for the Skype/phone interview that everyone says is necessary for admission if one received an interview waiver. (0)

Was really hoping to interview at Kellogg and thought after receiving the waiver that there might still be hope but so close to deadline, I have lost most hope. Kellogg says that having a waiver has no impact on application but I think it’s BS. For those that interviewed that’s an extra assessment on their application which isn’t there for folks that received waivers. I sort of feel cheated by Kellogg. Wish I had known about the waivers in the application form while selecting my choice, would have chosen an on campus interview. Don’t know what Kellogg is looking in applications. I visited campus before, spoke to the adcom and students. Made it aptly clear that Kellogg was my top 1 choice but clearly doesn’t look like it’s meant to be. (0)

anon Likes Earned: 0 Female here -- interviewed, no invites to lunch / dinner. Quite frankly, wouldn't want to attend a university that's as nebulous about their process as Kellogg. Here's to hearing back in a couple of weeks. (0)

anon12780 Likes Earned: 2 The dinners aren’t just for women (I attended a coed one) but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re limited to major cities in the US. I also saw several people from the R1 posts getting in without being invited to a brunch or dinner so don’t lose hope! But either way sounds like you’ll have some great options (0)

anon10182 Likes Earned: 10 I had a phone conversation with Kellogg's Associate Director back in January and received few emails from her since then providing me with some information about Kellogg (blogs, news etc.). I was told that this is Kellogg's initiative to try and engage with their applicants more until decisions are released. I wonder if it is up to the person who overlooks each region on how to engage with their candidates? I'm from Europe btw (0)

What are these waivers people keep posting about? I interviewed on campus in late January, got invited to a brunch two weeks ago— located in a major city so that’s probably why. Confused if they invited all applications who are located in the cities they hosted brunches/dinners. I do find it kind of odd how MIA they’ve been through this process in comparison to all the other schools I applied to. Can someone explain what these waivers are? I thought interviews were required to get an acceptance (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1577 Kellogg allows all candidates to opt for an interview. In some areas, Kellogg doesn't have enough interviewers for the demand, so offers waivers to some of those candidates. This all happens before a thorough review of the written application (I assume). Once the application is reviewed, Kellogg might offer some candidates who originally recieved waivers, a Skype interview. In previous seasons, you can't get admitted without an interview. That's how I understand their process. (0)

anon12780 Likes Earned: 2 I think the problem comes from too many people requesting an off campus interview. I would suggest to all applying next year that you interview on campus. It sends a signal of stronger interest to the school and I’d guess it’d also prevent you from receiving a waiver at Kellogg (0)
