grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1395 It's a 2:2 (note the colon), which means "Lower Second Class Honors" in the UK-style university system, where this person seems to have earned their undergraduate degree.

In that system, the best is a 1:1 (First Class Honors - which is like a 4.0 GPA), then 2:1 (Second Class Honors), and then 2:2 (more like a 3.0 GPA ). So it's not a homerun, but it's solid - especially if from a reputable undergraduate institution, and when combined with a decent showing on the GRE.
