Hi Clear Admit,
I'm a big fan of your podcast — thank you for offering such thoughtful and actionable insights for MBA applicants. As someone applying this fall for 2026 entry, I’d be grateful for your take on my holistic candidacy. Below is a quick snapshot of my background:
Professional Experience (4+ years)
Growing with the same company from internship 2020 to today, my experience spans global brand strategy, cross-functional project leadership, whitespace analysis, and packaging innovation across both B2C and foodservice channels.
Current Role (since Jan 2025): Rotated/Promoted from prior role. Global Emerging Brand Specialist at CJ CheilJedang, the parent company to Schwan's Company. As the most junior candidate (of 5 members - VPs and Director-level roles) in a company experiment to involve global talent, my team is located entirely in Korea and Korean-born. Although my role is leading brand development/expansion across the U.S. and Asia, my experience speaks to collaboration across timezones, cultural nuance and leading without formal authority.
Prior Role (2 Years): Promoted to Senior Marketing Associate at Schwan’s Company, on bibigo - A Korean food brand, currently the US's fastest growing Asian food brand, recently extended from Korea. I led the visual identity overhaul of bibigo, an initiative spanning 135 SKUs across 13 manufacturing sites, with 40 cross-functional members, all during a major post-merger integration.
Leadership Experience:
I served as President of Alpha Phi during COVID-19 (Jan. 2020 - Jan. 2021), leading with clarity amist many stakeholders (University Officials, Campus Panhellenic, and Alpha Phi International) and compassion (Members & Parents). Maintained stability and cohesion by partnering with these groups to make tough decisions and navigate an uncertain time - and learning a whole lot about campus housing and contracts!
Academic Background
University: University of Denver, Class of 2021
Major: Marketing, Minor(s): Management & Law
GPA: 3.31 (Acknowledged as a hurdle — but offset by strong professional growth and deep involvement/leadership on campus)
GRE: 313 (Retaking in August with a structured Kaplan study plan, aiming for the 320s)
Beyond Work
I’m a passionate team player outside the office, too — I play recreational volleyball, enjoy golf, and recently picked up pickleball. These hobbies reflect my love for collaboration, friendly competition, and continuous improvement!
My goal is to pursue an MBA to deepen my leadership in global brand strategy, expand my impact on culturally resonant consumer brands, and explore the Tech/Cloud service industry.
I’d appreciate any thoughts or feedback on how this story might resonate with admissions — especially given the academic metrics. If possible, I would love for the podcast to review my ApplyWire in an upcoming episode! Thanks again for all that you share with the community.
