I have obtained a test waiver from NYU and Dartmouth, I have my CPA license. I have strong essays and 2 strong letter of recommendations. One from a former supervisor (moved jobs less than 6 months ago) and one from a professor where I took a graduate level tax class as an undergraduate student. I do not have much community involvement but have been running a small investment fund with a couple of former peers.

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1837 Is there a reason why you requested the test waiver? With a lower than median GPA, that might present challenges. I assume this might also be why you have the faculty recommendation, but two professional recommendations is generally going to be preferred?

Showing impact and growth at work will be very important. What are your longer term goals, post IB?

incognitoadmit Likes Earned: 2 Hi! Thanks for the response back. I requested the waiver because I have my CPA license and have not taken the GMAT. My undergrad GPA is lower because I was working full time during school to pay for it and had to take extra classes in order to sit for the CPA exam. My longer term goals post IB are to either work my way up at a bank or join a fund. (1)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1837 I honestly think the waiver may make things tougher for you, despite the CPA. For Johnson, are you planning to take the GMAT, or GRE? If you’re targeting programs in Round 2, I think it would make sense to prep for one of these tests, given the lower GPA? (0)
