Notes:

Hi guys, I know a lot of the posts come around, but looking to see what my chance might be at a ft MBA program.

I’m ~1 year in tenure at an MBB in NY/SF/BOS, doing most of my work thus far in tech and financial services. Undergrad in computer science with a 3.8 GPA from a school like Berkeley/UVA/UIUC.

GMAT is 715

URM male (African American)

In college, I was decently involved in ECs with a bit of leadership experience, but not a ton.

I’m considering applying now (so matriculating after 2 years of work experience) or next year (after 2 years at MBB and a 1 year externship elsewhere, ideally in tech)

Would likely return to MBB for 2 years after to pay off sponsorship, but if I’m truly moved by the externship/MBA experience, would consider going straight into tech in some capacity.

My areas of weakness application-wise are most likely leadership experience and recommendations (didn’t form very strong relationships with college profs and haven’t yet build very strong bonds with leaders at my firm).

What do you guys think my chances are at an M7 (ideally at HSW)? How could I increase them? Of course through finding leadership / recommendations through my firm, but how could I action that?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts
