brian75 Likes Earned: 27 I am a committee member (pseudo Junior Board Member) of a non-profit with experience leading fundraising events to give back into the community. Raised the most money out of the ~10 people on the committee for annual self-led fundraiser, spoke at a 100 person happy hour fundraiser last week. Outside of work I am an active outdoorsman having summited Mt. Rainier, Mt. Whitney, and enjoy long distance running. Other interests include sports analytics (though I candidly haven't published anything there outside of group chats) but using excel models and python to pursue curiosities (and March Madness predictions). Work for a boutique consulting firm which drives uncertainty into how I would stack against the MBB/Big 4's. Is there any concern with how unbalanced my GRE score is? My mocks were around 165/165, so I was excited to see the quant marked higher. Undergrad was Finance and Product Management, so somewhat quanty but not STEM. Thinking about retaking in a couple of weeks just to see. Likely hoping to end up back in Seattle after the MBA but very open geographically for school. Planning to apply to UW Foster but hoping to go away for school to a more competative name brand to replace the liberal arts college on my resume. I could see myself potentially returning to consulting post-grad, but I am generally leaning towards tech and I think my why MBA story would be stronger going consulting -> Tech than consulting -> better consulting. I have experience building mobile apps and algorithms from undergrad but have been more strategy and operations in consulting than truly tech related. Any other recommendations for how to stand out as an overrepresented white male consultant? (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1845 The GRE is already very good. Unless you think you can improve it, I’d probably stick with it and focus on other stuff. Short term goal re tech PM does sound very reasonable, but this would usually come from someone with an engineering background. So playing up some of your tech focus now (and during undergrad) will make sense.

I wouldn’t overly worry about being over represented, but having a good first round strategy will allow room for adjustments in Round 2. So I think Foster can wait for Round 2, for example. Ross might also be a program to add.
