anon29735 Likes Earned: 0 Thanks. I did visit Duke and really enjoyed my time there. I like the case method at Darden so I'm torn. I also know that Tuck is a really great school for consulting. The amount of loans I would need to take is giving me pause though. (0)

anon13400 Likes Earned: 0 Yea, in a similar situation. I know many will say don’t worry about the $ but if that is your desired career path, may be worth following the $$. I was down at Fuqua recently too - great place and great people. I guess the question is whether Tuck is worth $90k more in the long run. Could be (0)

anon22099 Likes Earned: 1 If you can stomach the thought of not making it into an MBB firm (which given your LT goal of nonprofit, an MBB firm probably isn't necessary) then I'd go to Darden or Duke. For consulting, I'd prefer Darden, but Duke would be a great option as well. Dartmouth will give you the best shot for sure, but that's a big wager giving up $90k for ~20% MBB placement at Tuck vs ~12% placement at Darden. (0)

anon15575 Likes Earned: 0 Non-profit after consulting is an interesting path, for sure. The difference between Duke and Tuck is not just 90k scholarship but Duke is a bit cheaper too, to begin with. So, yeah, the loan portion is going to cross into 6 figures. Now, Darden places well into consulting too and is more alike to Duke (in terms of placements and costs). It just also helps that you have scholarship - which will put you ahead into the game when hiring starts. So, I'd choose between Darden and Duke with preference to Darden. (0)

anon16266 Likes Earned: 0 Hey! Totally understand the struggle here - I am also hoping to go from consulting to the nonprofit world after b school and was choosing between Darden (with $) and Tuck. Although all of these schools have impressive connections in the consulting world, I found that at least between Darden and Tuck it felt like there was a large difference in terms of social impact / nonprofit-related resources and alumni. I'm sure you could get there from any school if you put in the legwork, but I personally felt a material difference between the two. The best advice someone gave me was to think about what I was most willing to give up - was it scholarship money, fit, location, network, career opportunities, etc.? I personally gave up on scholarship money (even though I'm paying for b school myself) and chose Tuck for its fit and location, but you'll have to decide what's most important to you. Either way, you really can't go wrong! (0)
