Question about Vanderbilt / Owen

Waitlisted at Vanderbilt Owen in early April. I submitted all follow up documents possible, but getting antsy about planning for a cross-country move with the family.

If a deposit deadline was April 30, should waitlisted spots open up in early May? Any knowledge on how big the waitlist is?

The anxiety is killing me :-)

anon17117 Likes Earned: 50 There has been discussion on GMATclub that waitlisted candidates might hear back from Owen by end of May - not sure how it really applies to the international candidates though since there are lots of paper work to be done. I'm also waitlisted candidate in the second round, may I ask what updates did you submit so far? (1)

anon92367 Likes Earned: 3 thank you for the info! I've only been using ClearAdmit and reddit (lol) for updates, so I'll look into GMAT Club. I submitted additional letters of rec, a few magazines/articles I've been featured in since being waitlisted, new awards, and just keep emailing my advisor for updates about once a week lol. I am not international, so we'll see I guess by the end of May! (1)

anon17117 Likes Earned: 50 Thanks for sharing your updates! I did pretty much the same including uploading the continued interest essay. I'm not sure if it's my feeling or not but it's seems like they been pretty quite after R2 with acceptances and waitlist moves too. Also, just google Calling all Owen(Vanderbilt) MBA Applicants: 2025 and you'll find the thread easily that I was referring to. Best of luck to us! (2)

anon27289 Likes Earned: 4 I spoke with one of the admissions counselors this week and was told that the timeline for admitting people on the waitlist is very fluid. The admissions process can go through the end of June and possibly even into July. I’m right there with you about being on the waitlist with a family and living on the west coast. Not ideal, but being on the waitlist isn’t the worst thing at the moment. Keep your head up as I’m doing the same! (2)

anon92367 Likes Earned: 3 Nope. You? I am assuming all of the craziness with visas right now is creating chaos for the AdCom team. I saw they reopened applications through June 9, so they're definitely looking for a certain type of candidate. I am not an international student. I'm assuming they are being cautious with any admitted/waitlisted international students. (1)

anon27289 Likes Earned: 4 No news from my end. Feel like it’s way too late in the process to accept internationals even without the Trump admin visa stuff, but I have no idea what that process actually looks like. Not an international as well. (0)

anon17117 Likes Earned: 50 I was rejected by Vanderbilt after I submitted a continued interest essay along with an additional recommendation letter. Got in touch with a couple of current students and mentioned that in the essay too; kept attending the admissions virtual events. (0)
