Terry has over 200 full-time and part-time faculty members. The 50+ full-time MBA faculty are spread across eleven departments. Terry faculty are among the most productive researchers in the country, edit at top journals, and receive research awards. Many have served in C-level roles and continue to consult within their industries.

Curriculum

Georgia MBA faculty employ lectures, discussions and the case method to teach the curriculum. The academic year is broken into semesters and students need 61 credits to graduate, including one credit for required community service.

Georgia MBA students can begin to sharpen their core business skills the summer before matriculation with Online Georgia MBA Foundation courses. This is recommended for candidates with weaker quantitative skills. The program includes modules on the fundamentals of finance, accounting, statistics, marketing, and economics. For two weeks prior to the first fall semester, Georgia MBA students take part in orientation during which they focus on the overview of the MBA student experience, team building, academic preparation, and internship and job search preparation.

The first semester is focused exclusively on the core courses. Then, students, while completing their remaining core classes, may use the next three semesters for their concentration option, electives, and/or applied learning opportunities. First-year students take the following core courses: Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Economic Analysis for Business Leaders, Applied Business Statistics, Strategic Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Organizational Behavior, and Strategy Execution & Career Success. Additional required courses are Legal Environment of Business, and an analytics course. Students are required to take electives, which can be used to fulfill concentration requirements and focus on their specialized interests. Students are also required to take two capstone courses, and additional capstone courses can be taken as electives. A paid summer internship is required between the first- and second-years.

The Georgia MBA also offers nine concentrations: business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, healthcare management, human resources, marketing, operations and supply chain management, real estate, and risk management. Areas of focus include strategy, fintech and social innovation. Georgia MBA students have the flexibility to combine more than one concentration and/or layer an area of focus. Georgia MBA students also have the option to complete an international residency, a for-credit global consulting opportunity that includes travel over spring break for on-site work with their company liaison and make their final presentation to upper-level management. Recent destinations include Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Lima, Costa Rica, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, and Santiago.
