how are internationals (specifically Indians) managing the funds for Ross considering Prodigy isn't providing enough? I am even starting to wonder it makes sense to take such a huge loan given the current work visa situation. Few of my friends at Yale, Tuck, MIT, Kellogg are still looking for summer internship which is scary.

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Getting a consulting job from any school, including M7, is not a guarantee. Even if you have citizenship in the US, your odds are likely still roughly 50/50 that you get a consulting job.. throw in needing sponsorship, and I'm sure those odds decrease. At least that's what I've heard-- i.e. A significant portion of students aiming for consulting at any school simply do not make the cut. Take that information as you will (and certainly not to say you can't do it! It's just far from guaranteed) (0)

@OP Likes Earned: 0 I also know of internationals really struggling here in Houston. But it also depends on the market. Energy right now is down in general, so that explains it. I would say if internationals from other industry are also struggling, then that would be alarming. Of course, visa has become a big issue since Trump, but still people should do their homework on industry trends and current market conditions (or what it would be when they are out looking for internships) before spending such large sum. Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 I am going to Tepper, taking 140k$ loan. I find it worth to go there. I already rejected ISB for Tepper. For me the experience is really important. I really hope though that I get visa/ and job in US. Hopefully technical industry will stay strong. (0)

Houston native Likes Earned: 0 Houston will be tough for professional-level jobs because of the persistent problems with O&G. Not a fair sample of the rest of the country. For internationals, look outside of OG and places like Houston where the industry dominates (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 High ROI doesn't guarantee that you will get a high paying job. You can end up at a lower point of the salary range at like $80K. Even for top schools. It is all up to you on how much of a hustler you are and how much you will self-promote. As an international student, I think $140K or $150K is definitely worth the investment. Thinking of all opportunities down the road and most importantly choice opportunity. (0)

LastAnonymous Likes Earned: 0 I am actually not a dreamer. I just know how to effectively budget and save $$. Just speaking from experience, get an MBA as an educated decision and see if it truly will add value to your career. In my case it absolutely will. $140K is not a big deal to pay off. You don't have to buy starbucks every day and drive a brand new car. You can get by 3-5 years and be debt free. I'll take that over being stuck at a career where your choices are limited and it's not even what you want to do long term. (0)

Think about it - in the US a home that costs 190k is not good and is easy to pay off a mortgage for, so in this case your MBA investment is not that big, especially given the access to higher earnings it gives you afterwords.
