Stayed in classroom, during that time also did recruiting for district (first teacher ever hired to do that while teaching) and teacher coaching. Launched organization to empower families to prepare their kids for school. Won seed funding at pitch competition, scaled to reach 6k families. Things slowed down, transitioned to K12 philanthropy. Currently evaluate nonprofits/entrepreneurs for viability/potential impact and manage grants.

Your work experience might be very interesting, and a good point of differentiation. It will be important to show your impact. Are you involved in activities, outside of work? Curious how you selected your target programs. Almost expecting to see Yale listed. Your GMAT is ok, is it well balanced. Some might argue that if it was 30 points higher, the rest of your application strong, you could be targeting more M7 programs. (0)

anon37612 Likes Earned: 0 Thanks for feedback! further info- Goal- consulting for a few years to gain experience and skillset to be positioned to run a nonprofit/education organization. Post MBA preference- Ohio or DC. Outside of work - neighborhood civic association. Between target location, goal to come out with no/very low debt, and if ultimately running nonprofit recognizing not making mid six figures, would rather be at these schools (with scholarships) than M7 without (0)

The only caveat, a few years at a top consulting firm can offer a reasonably quick payback on the mba investment. The higher the profile of program you attend, to better access to MBB. Anyway, Tuck/Yale might be worth considering (0)
