Had a break between 2 roles due to health issues. My main concern is I don’t have clear promotion trajectory in my first role and neither in the second although my responsibilities have expanded
Will retake GMAT in Aug

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1830 Which programs are you targeting, specifically? Increasing the GMAT score will help, considerably. Where was your undergrad degree from?

I’d worry less about promotions, and more about showing impact and growth with increasingly more responsibility and scope of work.

Adding further information below, - Personal information: Asian female moved to Europe since 10, have lived and studied in 4 countries in last 20 years and with the latest 8 years in the UK, 4 years work experience purely based on London - Language: English and French, Cantonese - Undergrad from UK top 10 university + masters at LBA MFA - Targeting top 15 MBA programmes in the US + all MBA in Texas (Rice Jones, UT Austin etc.); I want to target top 10 but worry that I may not be able to get a good enough GMAT before DDL. Plan to apply for UT McCombs, Rice Jones and Duke in round 1 probably with my current GMAT or the one in Aug, depending on which one is higher, then applying for more competitive ones in round 2 with the hope that I can get a good enough score before round 2 DDL - Post-MBA career goal: Energy finance/ energy investment. Will target energy finance first then move to energy investment in the long term - Certificate: CFA level 2 passed - Extra-curricular: A part-time career mentor for last 3 years and coached 100+ mentees, primarily focus on help female to get in consulting or energy industry; LBS early career alumni interviewer and ambassador; Actively involved in dog rescues (raised £1000+ and saved 20+ dogs); Outdoor sports lover (marathons * 2) (0)
