I was born in Romania and moved to Belgium as a child, where I grew up. I then studied at a top-10 UK university, finished with a 1st class degree (Economics and Political Science), and started my career in wealth management at a top American bank in Switzerland, advising some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs.
This exposure sparked a strong interest in entrepreneurship and VC. For the past year, I’ve been working with a startup outside of my full-time role, mainly evenings and weekends, helping prepare for a funding round and shaping the pitch and financials. I’m now looking to pivot fully into this space and pursue an MBA in the US, where the VC ecosystem is strongest.
I’m targeting a GMAT score of 675+ and have strong recommenders. Outside of work, I’ve been active in volleyball (university team and beyond), held leadership roles in student societies, represented my class in China as an ambassador, and currently lead recruiting and next-gen initiatives at work.
Do you think my target schools align well with my background? And based on my profile, what should I focus on in my application? I’m thinking of highlighting:
• The startup experience
• My role advising top entrepreneurs
• Leadership experience
• My international background (lived in five countries total)
