Question about NYU Stern

Round 3 submission on January 17th
Waitlist without interview on March 14th
Updated several times from April to May (recommendation letters, test scores, essays)
Receive NYU's waiting list reply email on May 16th

I still haven't received an interview request, so is there any hope? Is there anyone in a similar case as me? Even if I send an email, they can't tell me about the schedule.

I'm anxious because other school deadlines have already passed or are approaching.
NYU Stern seems like a really frustrating school that doesn't care about its students.

anon16138 Likes Earned: 53 Idk why many are so interested in NYU, I’m not trying to downplay the quality of the school or other’s interests but IMHO I wouldn’t consider going there, unless you are international or grew up in a remote area of the world and desire to be thrown into the polar opposite. I mean my great uncle was a professor of business there once but that was 40 decades ago when New York was much cleaner and safer. It’s weird how it’s ranking is pretty inflated, when Michigan, Darden, Cornell, etc etc are much better schools overall (I.e., academics (professor quality can be debated as I know Stern definitely has top notch professors just like the other schools), beautiful campus, global brand recognition, research, etc.) Nonetheless, if you do not care and still are deeply interested in the school, I would urge you to look at a lot of the other top 20 schools and rethink. Do not worry if NYU rejects you in the end, I would just instantly apply for R1 for next year, or reassess if there are better schools. For instance, I have the stats now to help get into an M7, but I am looking into schools like Cornell because I know at the end of the day 99.9% of people in the world know what an Ivy League is but do not know what the T10 MBA programs are on US News. Plus, you can get a hefty scholarship and why be in debt or make your family pay if you don’t have to? Keep that in mind. (1)

jadmit Likes Earned: 33 This guy doesn’t get it^^^… I’m in a similar spot on the waitlist. At this point if you are locked in on starting in August, I would say you have to start considering other options. I’m trying to stay in NYC so only looking at NYU and Columbia rn, but if your between here and another school and aren’t as location dependent, its probably best to assume waitlist conversion potential is low. But! Nothing is set in stone! I’m personally just thinking about a waitlist spot as a good sign to reapply in R1. (1)
