The Rice Business MBA deadlines for applicants targeting the full-time program at the Jones Graduate School of Business are below.
Prospective Rice Business MBA students should note that their materials must be submitted by 11:59pm CST on the date of the deadline.
The Rice Business MBA admissions team conducts its application review process in four rounds. Round 4 is for U.S. domestic applicants only.

For candidates planning to apply through the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, the 2026-2027 Rice Business MBA deadlines are October 15, 2026 and January 5, 2027. Applications open August 17, 2026.
Required Materials
The application must include unofficial copies of all academic transcripts and GMAT, GRE or Executive Assessment scores (test waiver available). Official copies are required for enrollment. Applicants must submit a one-page professional resume, up to two professional letters of recommendation (if one is from a current or former direct supervisor, only one is necessary), responses to essay questions, and the $200 application fee. The $200 application fee can be waived for United States military personnel (active duty or veteran); Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) MBA Prep Fellows; Forté Foundation MBALaunch members; MD/MBA dual degree program applicants; Rice University alumni; prospective students referred by alumni through the Build the Class program; and prospective students who have attended a Recruiting and Admissions event (Virtual Events, On-Campus Events, MBA Fairs, etc.).
How Does Rice Jones Conduct Interviews?
Rice refers to their interviews as community assessments and they are by invitation only. Rice notes that these will be conducted virtually until further notice. Invitations to a community assessment may not be issued until after a posted deadline release date.

Quick snapshot: 28-year-old Austrian, currently a consultant at an MBB firm in Vienna, selected into the firm’s private equity ringfence and staffed exclusively on commercial due diligences and value creation programs for PE funds. Promoted to Consultant after 18 months, six months ahead of the standard track, following a six-month cross-office assignment in Riyadh that is reserved for top-performing Associates. By matriculation in fall 2027 I will have roughly 2.5 years of full-time experience, plus earlier internships at Austria’s embassies in Washington, DC and Tokyo and a year as Founder’s Associate at a sustainability startup during my master’s.

Outside work I co-organize Pride@BCG in my office and onboard new joiners, coach high school students through a year-long business program, completed a diploma in diplomacy and economics with the UN Youth Association, co-headed my university’s high-potentials society, and trained in Michelin-starred kitchens — I still cook as a freelance private chef.
Post-MBA goal: a US-based investing role at the intersection of private capital and public purpose — impact investing, sustainable finance, or the investment arm of a foundation or mission-driven institution. Long term I want to bridge investing and policy across the US and Europe, and eventually give back to Austria in a civic or public leadership role.
