Curriculum

The MAnalytics program is structured across four phases spanning a 12-month timeline. Students begin with an intensive Python bootcamp during the summer. The fall semester includes core analytical methods courses focusing on optimization, risk modeling, simulation, and data analysis (such as IEOR 240 Optimization Analytics, IEOR 241 Risk Modeling & Simulation Analytics, and IEOR 242 Applications in Data Analysis). The spring semester transitions into specialized elective courses and the hands-on IEOR 243 Analytics Lab project course, where student teams tackle real-world industry challenges utilizing Python, optimization, and simulation tools. The program concludes with a required summer industry internship.
In order to complete the technical core and practical application components, MAnalytics students engage with specialized tracks and elective courses covering areas such as pricing and finance, scheduling, risk management, logistics and supply chain, human resources, and operations management. For example, students can elect to take specialized courses such as IEOR 250 Production Planning & Logistics Models, IEOR 252 Service Operations Management, or IEOR 264 Computational Optimization alongside their core requirements.
