Notes:

Have been admitted to a couple of M7 programs and a couple of T15 programs. As an international I wasn't optimistic on my acceptance chances at GSB earlier. But now I'm wondering whether I should take a swing in R3 given the pandemic+economic scenario. Is there any anticipation of changes in school acceptance patterns? Is it worth spending $$ on applications right now, or should I just remain satisfied with the options I have currently? Since Tech is my primary focus, Stanford would be most ideal and Haas would be a good-to-have option.

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1152 This year has been a great year to apply overall...and the current crisis may make R3 a much better round than one typically sees. If you've already grabbed some M7 offers, it likely wouldn't hurt to give Stanford a shot. You clearly did something right in terms of your applications to date, so that suggests promise. I will say that your years of work experience are on the longer end of the spectrum for Stanford...but you never know. One final point: I'm confused as to where Haas fits in; have you already applied and earned an offer there? If not, are they better than the M7 options you have in pocket?

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1579 Columbia extended its Round 3 deadline, for the very same reasons. It suggests to me that we might be seeing more activity in Round 3 this season. Think hard about Stanford's essays, they're not a trivial repurpose of other school essays. Best of luck! (1)

Glad to know that the suggestion is to apply to Stanford as there's no downside (apart from the application fee) 1. Haas was added to the list since it performs better on tech recruiting as compared to the M7s I have on hand. Hadn't applied to it earlier since they had mentioned to me in person that I would be at a disadvantage as compared to other applicants from my region. 2. Given the concern around internationals ability to actually make it to the US in time for classes, I was wondering if schools would be cutting down on accepting "vanilla internationals" as opposed to bringing in more "domestic applicants with foreign passports" to maintain their diversity percentages. What are your thoughts given schools are likely to offer deferrals to students who won't be able to arrive on campus in time for Fall classes? (1)
