Worked in analytics for largest media agency in US, pivoted to volunteering to in Thailand (English teacher) and now I work in digital media for emerging brands/start-ups. Looking to move into Green-Tech/Sustainability space, immediately post-MBA at a consultant firm specializing here.

Likes Earned: 0 Interesting career evolution. It will be important to share the “whys” behind your decisions, while showing growth and impact. I worry about your GPA, have you completed any additional course work? MBA Math or HBS CORe? That might help. You are targeting NYC and have some west coast programs listed, might make sense to look at a few more on the east side, Duke/Darden/Kenan Flagler etc? (0)

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1152 I love the diversity of experience you have had - and the media thread that sits nicely on either side of your volunteer experience in Thailand. I am concerned that your career goals may require a bit of an explanation, since it's hard to see how they relate to your past experiences....but perhaps you have a number of hobbies and activities that tie into this? Also, as Alex pointed out, your GRE/GPA combination currently falls well shy of the averages at the schools on your target list. Have you thought about giving the GRE another shot so as to balance out the sub-3.0 GPA? Have you taken MBA Math or HBS CORe? Also, if NYC if your destination, it could make sense to take a long look at the likes of Yale SOM and Cornell Johnson. At this point, however, I don't see any safety programs for you on this list, so I think you will need to do something about your numbers or adjust/add target programs accordingly. The extent to which that is needed may also depend on whether or not you are an ORM or URM, and how strong your ECs are. Best of luck!
