I graduated from IIT Bombay, Computer Science. I like to hike mountains and run marathons. Working as a software developer in one of the most famous companies in Tokyo. I come from ORM (Indian Male Engineer). I want to know my chances. I am looking into MIT LGO as well as it helps me stay in technology.

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1576 You're obviously very smart. My one concern is your relatively short length of experience. Are you leading software projects? Have you designed something that has had a real impact, etc? What are your current growth options? When you apply, apply in the first rounds (Indian Male Engineer). It's good that you have international experience. You list a decent spread of schools. My concern is, you might be a much stronger candidate in 1-2 years. (0)

As I am a developer, I do have a indirect impact on the revenue. I plan to apply to R1 because I come from ORM. My aim is to move to product management(PM) role or Finance. (0)

If you're not successful with these schools (maybe add Ross?) then reapply in a couple of years. Try to transition to PM, before the MBA, you'd be competitive at the very top programs (maybe with some additional cool volunteer experiences). (0)

Your numbers are solid, but as Alex pointed out the work experience could be a bit light...although some of that might be addressable by great recommendations and essays, and by the fact that you will presumably have almost 4 years of work experience by the time you'd begin an MBA program. I also think that your location in Tokyo will be a major asset if you can play it up and demonstrate the add'tl facet that affords your candidacy (culture, perhaps language, exposure to different management styles). One final thing to consider is how closely your goals align with your current industry experience. Is the jump to product mgmt. in finance realistic? Best of luck! (0)
