Notes:

Currently a commander of a missile defense unit and in charge of 150+ soldiers and civilians. Consistently ranked in the top 1-5% of my peers and can easily show impact at work and to the overall organization.

I scored a 326 on the GRE (161 verbal, 165 quant). My 3.51 GPA was earned at a top 10 public school in a social science major devoid of rigorous quantitative courses. I will also be 32 and have 10 years off work experience upon matriculation.

I want a MBA now because I’m wrapping up the quintessential Army Officer milestone of Battery/Company command and am at the crossroads of getting out or pushing forward to making the army a career. Although making it to 20 years is feasible and exiting with a retirement paycheck is enticing, I have a wife with her own career and together we want to start a family and grow roots somewhere. Staying in the army and having to move every three years and in between those moves deploy for 9-12 months is not conducive to that plan.

Post MBA I am looking to pivot into consulting with the aspiration of focusing on the aerospace and defense industry. I want to dovetail this short term goal into my long term aspiration of being a senior leader in operations and strategy for a large aerospace and defense company that is prominent in the missile defense space.

Outside of work I volunteer with a local neighborhood group as well as a theater production company that puts on plays for the community. In addition to that I have hobbies that include: cooking/baking/BBQing, going for hikes in the mountains, and frequenting the local breweries.

I’ve already submitted applications to USC and UT Austin. Will be submitting apps to Northwestern, UCLA, HBS, Haas, and GSB in round two.

Looking for advice/recommendations for my round two strategy. Should I add/drop any schools. Additionally, is there any part of my profile that is weak and could use help.
