Notes:
I need to transition from an ESG role to a private equity/ Asset Management/ Venture Capital, especially in a deal making role (core finance and not ESG jobs). My job experience includes:- 1. Business Analyst Intern (Product)- ZiffyHealth; 2. ESG Research Analyst Intern (Corporate Governance)- SG Analytics; 3. ESG Research Associate II (Climate Solutions)- Morningstar (Sustainalytics); 4. ESG Associate Consultant (Strategic Business Transformation)- Ernst & Young ~ 2 years of experience (3 years will be done by next year December).

Also, as Alex points out, making the leave from a consulting role into PE/VC might be challenging (especially while also changing geography) - and that may lead you to investment banking as a first step, which in of itself may serve to highlight specific programs or markets - Cornell, NYU, LBS / New York, London, Hong Kong, etc..
As you are likely aware, applying from India will make you an ORM - especially in R2 - so you will need to ensure that your applications really shine; that they demonstrate a good deal of knowledge of your target programs (hence my earlier advice to trim things down). ECs will matter too, as will the caliber of your undergraduate institution and rigor of your studies.
Best of luck!
