Profile: Computer science engineering degree with a specialization in business operations. I've worked 3 years (4 at matriculation) in a technical role in cyber security consulting at a top 10 US consulting firm. My post-MBA career goal is to transition from a technical consulting role to a strategy consulting role (still in technology). The backup plan would be to move to an internal role related to tech strategy. Leadership/Extracurriculars: I've led 2 teams responsible for the development of 2 new service lines. I work with Habitat for Humanity as a crew leader managing a team of 3-4 volunteers constructing houses. Due to some minor medical procedures I don't think round 1 is doable.

You're a tech person, so it will be important to show the teamwork and leadership. It's nice that you lead a team for H 4 H. Your goals make sense, do you have a particular focus for a long-term goal? Your target schools are a nice mix of reach programs ... to "comfortable" targets. Do you have any geographic preference, post MBA? (0)

Likes Earned: 1152 One other note regarding your being a tech person: use language in your essays, resume, job descriptions that a layperson will understand (and ensure that your recommenders do the same). In order to excel as a senior manager/future business leader, you will have to show that you have the ability to 'translate' between the tech and management/business worlds. Best of luck!

anon17617 Likes Earned: 0 @alexbr2 My long term goal is to move into a CISO role for a financial institution (I have extensive background in this industry) responsible for the long term strategy of the cyber security posture. No particular preference in geographic location. @GRichmond thanks for the insight. Luckily a major portion of my role involves presenting information to non-technical stakeholders such as board members and c-suite executives. This has helped me development the communication skills required to translate this type of information. Thanks again for the advice! (0)
