Notes:

I served for 9 years as a Navy SEAL. I was the lead medic during that time and completed two combat deployments. I received my BS in Economics from a state university, online, while active duty. I would love to enter the management consulting business after the MBA.

I know that it is much more common to see SEAL/Green Beret Officers at the M7 compared to their enlisted counterparts. I would like to hear your thoughts on how that might affect my chances at those top schools.
Also I’ll be 32 when I begin the MBA. Might that be a concern?

I’d think your experiences will work very positively in admissions, completing your undergrad simultaneously will also be positive, for sure. What are your long term goals? You will be an outlier in terms of years of experience, so fit and goals will be more important. GMAT is a little lower than average, have you considered a retake? You are targeting the very best programs, might be worth considering 1-2 from the next tier (still great programs) and taking MBA Math or equivalent for additional prep. (0)

anon49018 Likes Earned: 0 Thanks Alex! I appreciate the advice, and I look forward to hearing the podcast. I am definitely going to retake the GMAT and hope to score above 720. To be honest my long term goals aren't yet 100% formulated. I think the role of COO seems like a great fit for a former service member but I haven't become hard set on that path. The short term goal of consulting seems like a great way to gain exposure and experience at a quick rate. Thanks again for your help. I'm open to any more input. (0)
