Econ & Poly Sci at northeast state school, ECs include co-founded greentech startup incubator in college, VP of school consulting club, just took CFA L2 last week, volunteer and mentor local at-risk youth + homework help. Have been at this smaller fund 2.5 years, find I enjoy working more closely on single cos and with people. I prefer Investing to Trading if that makes sense. Immediate post MBA goal is IB at power/utility/energy group, then transition to social impact/environmental/infra fund.

anon18593 Likes Earned: 8 Thanks Alex, startup incubator is still up and running but its a school initiative, so current students are tasked with leading it. I was one of three who initially co-founded it but once I graduated we handed it down. (1)

anon18593 Likes Earned: 8 To add - Fund has changed strategies from single name book (20-30 positions) to more quant with 200+ names thus my role has changed a lot from fundamental credit analyst to mix of backtesting strategies + operations work at this point. Have been trying to think of unique ways to make impact because most backtests/strategies aren't actionable so difficult to communicate results. (1)

Sounds like that experience ties with your current experiences. Be cautious of your use of jargon in your applications. Honestly think there’s a lot to like here, target these programs in Round 1, then adjust if necessary. (1)
