Work Experience: Current role is in Product Marketing at a large tech firm (1 year experience currently - will be 2 years when applying.) Previously I worked in the Insurance Industry for 4 years (all at one company). My W.E. in the insurance industry was heavily analytical and I was promoted twice (second promotion was a move to a different team). The Product Marketing role is also analytical but has given me a strong business background as I work closely with all the important functions of the business (finance, marketing, supply chain, sales, etc).

Short/Long Term MBA Goals: Short Term-Break into Investment Banking. Long Term- Become a leader in the investment banking industry. Be a trusted advisor that executives look to when facing important business decisions

Application Concerns: My GPA being on the lower end of the 80% range of the schools I am looking at (Note I do have an upward trend in grades with a senior year gpa of 3.6-3.7). Based on what I’ve read, admissions use GPA as a proxy for being able to handle the coursework. I know one common suggestion to prove this is extra coursework, however I don’t think it would add much for me as generally the suggested courses are quantitative and my background shows I am strong in that area already. My main concern is the lowish number hurting their rankings, and a school like HBS, Wharton, Sloan may not be willing to look past that.

Let me know if you have any questions about me that I did not cover in my post. Also it would be nice to hear Graham and Alex feature me on the podcast! Hoping if I ask nicely it will happen :)
