Notes:

I was a Math major at an Ivy League school, and initially entered FinTech. I transitioned to People Analytics a year ago & love it, and I'd like to become (eventually) a CHRO. Right now I'm imagining that in the context of a tech startup, but mostly because that's where my experience has been so far. I've chosen each school because of personal connections. [As a note, my demographic info is: white / female / LGBT]
1: Would love to hear what your take is on a People Analytics candidate! Is this cliche or uncommon? 2: My GMAT is higher in verbal than in quant. Is it all right to rely on my academic / professional background to prove my quant abilities?

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1576 I’d think your numbers are great, being a math major will help. People analytics is an interesting area, indeed. Impact at work will be important. Are you involved in activities outside of work? You are aiming high, which I think is appropriate. Might even be worth exploring Stanford, despite wanting to be on the east coast, post MBA. (0)

anon19363 Likes Earned: 51 You have interesting pre-MBA experience, great numbers, and a good selection of schools. With a good app execution, I think you can do very well. I believe you will be okay on the quant side, provided you are a math major from an ivy with a good gpa and on top of that your current role probably has plenty of analytics. I don't know your split so can't say much but if it is really bad and you are still worried about it they are supplemental quant heavy courses you can take (and score well) which can further show your quant abilities. I doubt it you will need to do this though. Good luck in your apps! (1)

augthedog Likes Earned: 9 Thank you for your responses! Re: scores - I have been reading more about this and feel like I understand it a bit more. My split was Q47/V48, but my percentages were 61/99. From what I have learned, this is fairly normal, given the number of international test takers who are very strong in quant! My focus outside of my role is in supporting women - my volunteer work, school record (extracurricular & coursework), and in-work involvement are all in that area. I'm hoping to touch on that in my essays, as well as my goals of increasing the "profile" of HR and people analytics. My thesis is basically that businesses are already applying highly analytical techniques to their sales/ops/etc strategies, and those techniques can have a huge bottom-line impact when applied to their workforce. I think you're right that Stanford could be a good match in terms of tech, but I don't want to fall into the trap of creating too many applications instead of doing well on my priorities! (1)
