Looking to connect with people who have applied and experienced the process for a GRE waiver in these specific universities. Would be really helpful if you guys could help me out as Im looking to apply for the same in R3. Also any advice on how to approach this would be great. Thank you in advance.

wick Likes Earned: 5 Honestly I was planning to apply in R1 next term however i realised it would be better for me if i am able to start school as soon as possible. Hence not enough time to take a test while also preparing my application for this round. (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1583 It will be very challenging. If you complete the test (and do very well, of course), and apply in round 1 next season, you will have better chances/options. Either way, you’ll need to show impact, growth at work. Are you involved in activities outside of work? You’ll also need to explain the switch to event management, how it all ties to your pharma goals, etc (0)

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1152 I agree with Alex. I'd never recommend that an ORM apply in the late rounds (or final round) let alone while requesting a test waiver... You can certainly roll the dice, but I suspect you will have better luck in R1 next season and after having added a test score to your profile. Best of luck!

anon13853 Likes Earned: 5 Hey guys. First of all, thanks for featuring my question on wire taps. To answer your questions, this is my reason/story- I resigned my biotech R&D job on my own accord in the beginning of 2019 with the plan of applying to a Masters in engineering management (MEM) program at the time (the goal was always some sort of management position in biotech/pharma sector). However before doing that i wanted to volunteer for a few months and also get a basic level of management experience (hence joined the event management firm). But then covid struck and i decided it was not worth the money and time for me to start school at a that time especially if classes might be held online. So I decided to continue working in my event management job because I found there were several interesting challenges that were being put in front of me (after all people were still getting married although with a lesser number of guests while keeping up with government regulations). So I took up that challenge and felt like my management skills only got better. My ultimate goal however was and is always to get back into the biotech/pharma sector (this is something i have always been truly passionate about) but in a management role. Given the 5 years of total work exp, I realised an MBA at this point would definitely be a better fit rather than an mem which is usually for people with a lesser amount of work ex. Also without a masters I learnt its really not possible to get into a management role in these companies so if i do go back now it would be a technical role. (0)
