anon10852 Likes Earned: 9 OP here: applying R1 with short term goal of SW product management and long term goal of upper management in a technical/SW company. All schools are R1. Wanted to include some "safer" programs in hopes of scholarship, and figured six applications was enough, so Columbia and Wharton didn't make the cut for me. (1)

anon10852 Likes Earned: 9 Cool to be featured on the podcast! I'll definitely keep your advice in mind. I've been trying to avoid getting too caught up on rankings (especially when it comes to M7 vs top non-M7), but definitely don't want to sell myself short. (1)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1577 …rankings are a signal to broader differences between programs. Simple thought, M7 programs are generally larger (exception = Stanford) which means more resources, more (and better on aggregate, by admissions standards) classmates, and larger networks. (0)
