anon42492 Likes Earned: 20 I should have noted that I've taken UC Berkeley's Extension course; Project Planning and Methodologies and have a 3.8 GPA in my undergrad business minor which included a number of heavy quant classes. I've also completed courses in machine learning and data analytics through work. (0)

To answer your questions: I took the gmat twice and scored lower than the GRE and have taken the GRE once after 9 months of self study and then with a Veritas tutor. We decided to take the UC Berkeley approach to supplement especially because standardized tests have never been a strong spot for me. Stern is certainly an outlier in the schools I’m applying to but I have a close friend who went there and upon talking with her and other students and professors I decided to apply. The others - I’m looking for a general management emphasis and strong community in a rural or suburban area. I learn best when I can draw upon my peers in and outside of the classroom. Work experience: I spent a year training women in transitioning countries how to be active participants in their government. I left to join the corporate world at a research and advisory consulting company. Spent a year supporting sales teams through data analysis before transitioning to Strategy research working with CSOs to find innovative solutions to their challenges. After 2 years, was promoted and transitioned to doing the same kind of work with Quality executives to learn the operations side of the business. I want to go into in-house strategy work post MBA and getting that balanced experience is crucial. I’m a part of a team but act as a peer mentor to 3 other researchers on other teams as well. Outside of work I am a representative for my undergraduate college (an extension of my role as a student ambassador and elected board member) at college fairs in my area. I also volunteer weekly at the local food bank. Hope this helps! (0)

You'll probably want to use the optional essay to address your test score issue, noting your strong performance in quant-related courses. It will be important to show impact, at work, backed up by strong recs. (0)
