Pharmacy graduate located in north Africa, 33 years old , I had 3 years of minor experiences in the healthcare industry. My passion for entrepreneurship led me to co-found 2 civil engineering offices, working on major projects in Europe where I hold a manager position for more than 6 years. I am responsible for overseeing a team of 80 employees. Looking to use the MBA to continue the entrepreneurship road. My abysmal GPA really make me doubt. Is an MBA is even possible in my case?

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1584 Your GPA may make things challenging, but your GRE will be helpful, to some extent. Have you completed any additional coursework since undergrad? If not, might be worth looking at MBA Math, or HBS CORe? Also, what are your plans for your businesses during the MBA? Might also consider the format of the MBA, is full-time the best option, or part-time or executive-type program more suitable? (0)

I am looking to pursue other ventures but due to the time involvement required to run the daily operations that would be impossible, so my equity in the business will be acquired by my co-founder. My very low GPA can be attributed to me passing by some financial hardships at the time and having to work 35hrs/week through college. I don't want to make any excuses, I guess I was lacking the maturity to prioritize my academic performance over everything else. I would like to live the full MBA experience, and I don't think a part-time MBA is what I am looking for. Do you think MBA maths or HBS CORe could compensate for my GPA? Which one of these 2 courses should I go with? (1)

While your GPA is low, and you are older than most FT MBA applicants (even at these European schools on your target list), I think it's worth a shot. It sounds like your experiences would add value to the classroom, and that you have a clear sense of your need for the degree/are ready to throw yourself headlong into the MBA experience. I do think that pursuing some sort of prep course (MBA Math et al) might send a positive signal to your target programs. Have you considered IMD and Cambridge as well? Best of luck!
