Only applied to programs I really liked. Probably should've applied to more diverse schools instead of applying to the places with the lowest acceptance rate ever. Still happy/ excited to attend Cornell.

OP Likes Earned: 0 I spent a solid year on the whole process. More if you add in the time spent visiting schools and doing the research to narrow down choices. To anyone starting out in this process, absolutely invest the time into it. But also have the humility to realize that 1000s of others are doing the same and you should be prepared for all outcomes. Anywhere from 6 in 100 to 1 in 3 people make it into these best schools. I say this not to discourage you from even trying (you absolutely should!), but to encourage you to plan accordingly. (0)
