Notes:

Debating a full tuition scholarship at Booth vs a smaller fellowship at Wharton-Lauder program which only covers the 2nd degree. Focus is startups/VC in Asia which Lauder program is a perfect fit for. Wharton brand has better recognition in Asia but I love everything about Booth and a full ride is hard to turn down.

I guess you need to weigh the relative value of the Wharton/Lauder network over Booth (important for your goals) versus the "freedom" provided by the lower debt burden, which also may be important for your goals. Are you able to visit the schools for Admit events? (1)

anon97226 Likes Earned: 66 "I love everything about Booth" - listen to your gut on that. While I don't know you personally, you are going to thrive wherever you go. With a full ride at Booth and feeling strongly about the school, I would go with Booth. Congrats on whatever you choose! (2)

anon99457 Likes Earned: 14 Thank you! It certainly feels like a tough trade-off of perceived fit vs. prestige. I know that I would 100% thrive at Booth. However everyone I've talked to in Asia acts as though Wharton is the no-brainer choice. It seems the Wharton brand carries a lot more weight in Asia, while in the US the schools are more comparable. Agreed with Alex that the financial burden is also a big factor considering my post-MBA career goals and desired location. I think I'll just have to go with my gut feeling after the admit weekends! (1)

You raised a very good point about startups and VC being extremely relationship-driven, making the alumni network in my market of choice even more important than I had originally considered.
