anon10646 Likes Earned: 760 I'd think a lot of this could depend how much you might be willing to do a couple years in LA post-MBA as well then relocate. You can certainly recruit for NYC from LA, but it's just the feedback loop where lots go to UCLA to be in CA, stay and that is where your alumni networking connections will mainly be, so I'd treat that as a base case. I would do a lot of due diligence with Anderson career services and clubs to determine if NYC placements are available, just people do not pursue them as much. Viewing from employment reports it appears Anderson is as capable of achieving a placement in brand management, so if working in LA is acceptable and your research is positive, I'd lean to taking the $$ with Anderson. Since you have the luxury of choice, let's review these programs based on your key criteria: 1) Brand Management. You mentioned an interest in brand management. Just to clarify, are you seeking a brand management role in a consumer package goods (CPG) company? Looking at the Class of 2021 employment reports, here are the following percentages of graduates seeking employment who accepted CPG jobs: Anderson (7.5%), Ross (7.9%) and Stern (2.4%). Meaning, both Anderson and Ross have good CPG placement. 2) Scholarship: You have a $70k scholarship from Anderson vs none at Ross or Stern. 3) Location: You are based in NYC and would like to return to NYC eventually. Clearly NYU Stern would have the location advantage. In summary, it sounds to me like Anderson is a good choice since it offers you the best price and has a good track record of CPG career placement. As Anon10646 mentioned, a lot of Anderson graduates accept jobs out West. Having said this, I am sure that you could land a CPG job back east with a focused job effort. Alternatively, you could initially get a west coast CPG job and then transition back east with your next CPG job. Obviously, be sure to do your due diligence to confirm your personal fit with Anderson. Best of luck. (1)

Allow me to play devil's advocate for a moment: given your career goals, I wonder if taking a very hard look at Ross wouldn't make sense here too? First off, they would be well positioned for your brand management goals. Second, the cost of living in Ann Arbor will be a steal compared to LA and NYC. Third, Ross has an excellent network in NYC and does a good job placing candidates across the entirety of the US. Make sure you do your due diligence and get to know all three communities via admitted students events; don't ignore fit here. Best of luck!
