I'm disheartened. All of my top-choice schools have rejected me, except for Darden, which I'm not particularly excited about. My goal has been to begin my MBA in September, and it seems that Darden may be my only option. I'm still waiting on a decision from Stanford, but I'm not optimistic about it. HBS & Wharton have rejected me, Haas WL

anon72671 Likes Earned: 66 I do understand that Darden is an excellent choice, considering my post-MBA goal. However, to put it plainly, I had considered Darden more as a backup option. I've been on the Haas waitlist since December 2023, hoping to get off. Regarding my GPA, it's calculated on a 5.0 scale. I made sure to explain in my applications the circumstances that led to my lower GPA. I've also taken steps to enhance my academic profile by enrolling in certification courses, where I've already passed several modules. Also,I achieved a perfect 170 in the quantitative section of my GRE. (1)

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1877 Congrats on your acceptance and $60k scholarship to Darden. As Alex mentioned, Darden is a great MBA program with a great track record of MBB consulting career placement. Meaning, I would seriously consider accepting the Darden offer if your Haas waitlist doesn't come through for you. I don't think that waiting another year to reapply is worth the opportunity cost of delaying your post MBA career by another year when Darden can deliver on your goals. Of course, I do encourage you to visit the campus and chat with current students to become more acquainted with what Darden can offer you. Best of luck. (1)
