Accepted at UNC with fellowship, waitlisted at Duke, interviewing at Georgetown, and waiting to hear from NYU. Getting caught up in rankings and feeling like I need to attend the "best" school I get in to. Felt confident while visiting Kenan-Flagler, but Stern more explicitly focuses on my career interest in change management and human capital.

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1577 KF is a good choice, for now. Be smart to work on the WL, Duke may provide more options. As you note, it's generally considered a tier above. In the meantime, good luck with Stern. Stern does present a very different type of experience, and direct access to NYC. Generally considered in the same tier as Duke. (0)

anon29029 Likes Earned: 118 Congrats! UNC Kenan-Flagler is a solid choice. Sure, NYU/Duke are ranked a higher, but in that 15-20 range, I would not get too caught up. The rankings are volatile within that group and schools are similiar. Plus KF culture is pretty great. I would not pick Georgetown over any of these schools. Best of luck! (0)

anon52887 Likes Earned: 0 I'm in a pretty similar situation and trying not to let it stress me out too much. I got into UNC, am waitlisted at Duke and Texas, and just completed my Georgetown interview. I'm going to deposit at UNC next week, but Duke has been my top choice throughout the entire process, so I'm going to try to send 2 more updates to Duke to make sure they know I'm still interested and that if taken off the waitlist that I'd enroll. At the end of the day, even though it's a tier below, I know that I'll be happy at UNC and if I put in the extra effort to network my ass off that I'll be able to move into a career that I want. It's been too long and arduous of a process to let myself not be excited about getting an opportunity to attend a top 20 school, regardless of which one it is. (0)
