Notes:

Looking for a job in consulting or tech in Los Angeles post-grad. Love the Haas culture and reputation, but the cost (i got a much larger scholarship @ UCLA) and location (SF vs. LA) is tough to justify given my long term goals. Considering consulting a magic 8 ball at this point.

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 if your ultimate goal is do consulting or tech and stay in LA...hard to say no to UCLA. Yes, Haas has a better brand, but Anderson will get you very far in Southern California - not to mention, you are also going to save some money. (0)

LA resident Likes Earned: 0 Go to UCLA. $70k scholarship + the potential cost of living savings (LA is much cheaper than the Bay Area) is a significant amount of money to walk away from. I personally don't believe the Haas brand is worth an extra $100,000. And the fact that you want to end up in LA afterwards makes this is a no-brainer. (0)

Anony Likes Earned: 0 UCLA for sure -- Haas is supersaturated so unless you're the new Bill Gates you'll likely get lost in the crowd. At UCLA you can have a better chance of making a big impact, which means a better chance at landing that dream job at graduation. (0)

@LA resident Likes Earned: 0 In my view a School's brand name cannot be monetarily valued - that Haas is worth US$100K or not is something no one can decide or knows or can estimate. But couple of things to keep in mind are - MBA is for a life time - you will hold this brand through out your life. So you better be careful about the one you choose. Whatever said and done, Berkeley is bigger! Second, Berkeley definitely has a stronger network globally - in Asia for sure ( I am from Asia). Dont get me wrong, UCLA also has a great name, but not as good as Berkeley. So later in life if you want to move and experience other places, Berkeley will fetch you more worth. Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 I think the thing to consider for UCLA is the location means you can basically carry out internships all year round in your targeted destination. Plenty of opportunities to get in with startups etc. that you might want to end up at. (0)
